TRAINING TEENAGE GIRLS ON MANAGING NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND MENTAL HEALTH

1st July was a beautiful day @wingsofhoperescuehome2016 a home for homeless and unsupported pregnant teenage girls, victims of rape and child sexual abuse. With the pandemic it is even harder coping in these situations. Their vulnerability made us take a step to visit them for Mental Health training, coping skills during the pandemic and managing negative thoughts.Ensuring these girls have a Mental wellness support system is vital, the trauma, thoughts and and the fact that they are also not going to school because of the pandemic makes things even worse. The session became even more interesting having @violetmbiti the CEO of Violent Mbiti Foundation for a Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) session that was so informative.Thank you Mr.William for trusting us with these amazing girls whose future are so bright.

TRAINING PARENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN

At TOTAL REHABILITATION CENTRE where we were invited to have a Mental Health session with parents and caregivers of children with Mental health disorders and intellectual disorders. Stigma, discrimination and misunderstanding these disorders make it even harder to cope in society, with COVID_19, secondary stressors have even worsened their situations; from financial constraints, inadequate food supply, adult diapers, expensive medication and so much more. Let us come together and remember the caregivers and parents not forgetting the children with both difficulties since they are all in the vulnerable groups. Partnering with amazing people made this day a success and a smile was brought to these amazing families who have chosen to care for and love their children despite all kinds of challenges. Let us continue looking after our Mental wellness to be able to look out for others.
